Mrs. Scott, Heath and family,
My deepest sympathy for the loss of Tommy. His smile and always good spirit will remain a treasured memory. His struggles are over but the joy of his life continues. I found this shortly after we lost MOM ...hopefully it will comfort you as it has me. "To live in the hears of those you leave behind is never to die."

Frances, Heath, Deanna, and baby Veda Blue,
I have had the great pleasure of being accepted into a very large and close family. My family is unconvential, to say the least. But, you have made me and my children, feel as though we really belong, I appreciate that so much. Tommy had an ability to make you smile, and he put himself last, he made sure the family got what they needed, even being in the hospital and making sure Mary Heath got the right tires from Sears. I can promise you, Frances will need taken care of and for, as she has taken care of my family. I hope this brings some peace, knowing she will be watched over. I will do my best. My prayers are with you. I cared for Tommy a great deal, I think I owe him this one., Thanks, Mary Murphy

Dear Fran,

I'm sorry I never met Tommy. From all the loving comments I've read and seeing the warm (and is that a somewhat mischievous?) smile on his face, I can tell he was a wonderful man... fit for a partner like you. It may have been 40 years since I have seen you but I still remember fondly how much fun you were as our cheering sponsor. I also credit you with influencing my decision to go to Longwood by taking me there for a visit and sharing your love for your alma mater. Thanks to working with Alice and Janet on our '68 reunions and the subsequent WHS group emails, I was able to learn of Tommy's death even though I live out of town. I am so sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Fran and Heath I want to offer my sincerest condolences. As I try to deal with my own sorrow, I continue to hear in my head, Don't greive for me. Tommy is at peace and his soul is at rest. I met my dear friend 17 years ago, He allowed me to be me and I did the same for him. I remember the best times, the stories, the jokes, the laughter, the encouragement and the shoe laces. I will never forget my friend. Fran, thank you for giving me the opportunity to say "See You Later".
Rest in Peace My Friend.

Dearest friend, and "oldest" I might add. My tears are for you and your family for I know how much you will miss your dear Tommy. I do so regret that I was unable to see him last fall on my short visit back east - but so enjoyed our brief if not very audible reunion. Tommy will always be with you - in your heart, in your memories, in your son, and in your grandchildren. May you find comfort & peace in God's mercy & hope-His Son, Jesus Christ. I will keep in touch you can bet - 'cause you still have all my marbles!! Much love, Donna "O"

I miss you uncle Tommy. I think you were the only one who really thought I was perfect and could do no wrong. I will be there in purple (our favorite color) for you and hopefully a calm and strong support for the family. You are much loved and missed. Spread that smile and humor around heaven, and maybe next year you could help our Redskins out a little bit!!! I love you. Brinie

Fran- I'm so sorry about the loss of your beloved Tommy. I spent many hours chatting with him as I waited for my old clunker of a car to be fixed at Sears. He was always positive and helpful. I'm just glad you had so many years together.
