NEWPORT NEWS - Jerry Paul Adams, 60, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012, at his desk at Lorraine's spa.|
A native of Easton, Maine, he had been a resident of Newport News for 39 years. He graduated from Easton High School in June of 1970, and married his high school sweetheart in October of 1970. He worked as an electrician in Maine and Virginia, and had also worked with local rock bands as a soundman and manager. He built his wife two salons and one spa, beginning in 1988, with help from friends. He was currently the vice President for their location at Lorraine's Spa, for the past nine years.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother and father, Jack B. Adams and Rita Green; his nephew, Josh Kinney, who passed away after serving in Iraq and which Jerry had started a memorial golf tournament for; his uncle, Paul Fitzherbert; a dear friend, Shirley Andrews; and his faithful spa dog, Elvis.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lorraine K. Adams; son, Christopher Paul Adams; beloved step-mother, Evelyn Adams; sisters, Peggy Field and Patty Green; brothers, Rick Green and Glenn Adams; granddaughter and his heart, Ashley Lynn Frasier; numerous nieces and nephews; and loyal spa dog, Sugar.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Hidenwood Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. William G. Lamont and Rabbi Scott Gurdin.
