Jesse SLAUSON Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Jesse F. Slauson Jr., 67, died Nov. 26, 2009.
He was the eldest son of Helen Virginia and Jesse F. Slauson Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Williamsburg, as well as, a lifelong member of Jamestown Presbyterian Church.
He attended Matthew Whaley School and graduated James Blair High School in 1962. He went on to attend the College of William & Mary, then transferred to Frederick College, where he graduated with a BA in History.
Jesse taught school for several years before joining the Virginia Department of Transportation in Williamsburg, Va. He retired early to care for his aging parents and grandmother, Malisa Volenberg.
Jesse was a kind hearted man who enjoyed helping others and was an avid photographer. He also enjoyed gardening, television and reading, especially to keep up with home improvements and maintenance.
Jesse was preceded in death by his father, Jesse F. Slauson Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Virginia Slauson; sisters, Maralyn Carr, and Patsy DuBay of Toano, Va.; brother, William E. Slauson of Brookline, N.H.; along with many loving cousins and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 1, 2009, at Jamestown Presbyterian Church, 3287 Ironbound Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23185. Interment to follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at Bucktrout of Williamsburg Funeral Home .
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice House of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188.

We are so sorry to hear of Jesses death. He was such a devoted son to his mother. He will really be missed.God bless the family.
