Joe LEWIS Obituary

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Joe Lewis passed away on Nov. 25, 2009.
He is survived by his companion, Dorothy Bell of Washington D.C.; two daughters, JoAnn Palmer Knight (John) of Newport News, and Gail Whitaker of Enfield N.C.; one brother, MacArthur Lewis of Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Carrie Lee Whitaker of Washington, D.C., and Willie Mae Silvers of Enfield N.C.; and a host of relatives and friends.
His life will be celebrated on Dec. 3, 2009, at Johnson and Jenkins Funeral Home in Washington D.C. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at noon.
In lieu of flowers, to benefit the homeless, contributions may be made to St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Back Door Ministry, 230-33rd Street, NN, VA 23607. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.
