John BRYANT Obituary

CARROLLTON - John Henry Bryant III, 72, of Carrollton, Va., passed away on April 3, 2010.
A native of Newport News, Va., he was the son of the late John Henry Bryant Jr. and Margaret Boyd Bryant. He retired after 30 years of service working in Management at Verizon. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church; Smithfield Kiwanis Club; and the Barbershop Harmony Society.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hines Bryant of Carrollton; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth B. Smith (Chris) of Rockford, Ill.; a son and daughter-in-law, John H. Bryant IV (Dawn) of Walkersville, Md.; four grandchildren, Zachary and Riley Krueger and John and Kelly Bryant; a sister, Stella Borik of San Diego; and a brother, Blanton Bryant of Bedford, Va.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at 11 a.m. at historic St. Luke's Church, with the Rev. Gary Barker officiating. Burial will follow at St. Luke's Memorial Park Cemetery.

Sue and I are very sorry to hear your loss of John. The four of us kind of grew up together at C&P Telephone Co. John and I down stairs on the frame and you and Sue up stairs in traffic.

Barbara and Family,
The Estes Family sends thoughts and prayers at John's passing. My husband Harvey (died in 2007) worked with him for years. We celebrate the life of a great Christian and friend. God bless you all.

John and I worked together with C & P Telephone of Virginia at Aberdeen Road in the late 60's. John was a great friend and a joy to be around.
