WILLIAMSBURG - Joseph F. Cucurullo, 81, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed May 19, 2013. Joseph was born May 28, 1931, in Brooklyn, N.Y. Joseph was a veteran of the Korean War and internment will be in Calverton National Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Anna Cucurullo, brother, Anthony, and sister, Matilda Sergi. Left to cherish their memories of him are his wife, Grace, sons, Louis Cucurullo and Roy Carlo, daughters, Joanne Kopelakis and husband, Victor, Renee Kaplowitz and husband, Robert, his honorary daughter and caregiver, Dr. Geraldine Cruz, grandson, Jesse Kopelakis, sister, Marie Gambardella, a host of loving relatives and caring friends, and his chair side companion, Tinka-Belle. Joseph was a kind and gentle man who was dearly loved by all. The hole he leaves in our hearts will be filled with the memories and love he gave to us and everyone he knew. The family wishes to give special thanks to Gloria Pruneau and Sadie Glass, for all the tender care and devotion that they have showed Joseph these past 14 months. Thank you to the caring nurses and staff at Williamsburg Sentara Hospital (4 North) for their professional and attentive care while Joe was there.
