Joseph ASKEW Obituary
Joseph was a native of Newport News and lived in Hampton for 40 years where he retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service.
He leaves his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Sumiko Askew of Hampton; sons, Joey L. (Gail), Samuel L. (Terri) and Michael L. Askew (Marie); daughter, Lorraine Hawkins (Tony); 11 grandchildren, Joshua, Stuart, Jasmin, Jaela, Jakeira, Samuel Jr., Aiden, Alexander, Aaron, Arianna Askew, and Kenneth Johnson Jr.; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Smith Brothers Funeral Home. Family and friends will assemble by 10:30 a.m. at 545 E. Mercury Blvd., Hampton, 723-4117. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.
