Joseph ELLIS Obituary

DENDRON - Joseph P. Ellis Jr., 92, died Friday, April 23, 2010, at Sentara Obici Hospital.
A native and lifelong resident of Surry County, he was the widower of Kathleen B. Ellis. Mr. Ellis was a member of Cypress Baptist Church and Salisbury Hunt Club and retired from Virginia Department of Transportation.
He is survived by two sons, Charlie Ellis of Kentucky and Michael Ellis of Surry; two daughters, Claudia Roderick of Dendron and Kathy Williams (Kevin) of New Rochelle, N.Y.; two sisters, Rosa Moton of Richmond and Lucy Daniels of Dendron; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Cypress Church. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. Viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the Church.
