HAMPTON - Joseph P. Lehman Jr., fortified with the sacraments of Mother Church, died on Thanksgiving day, November 28, 2013 surrounded by his family. Joe was born on February 25, 1930 in Alton, Illinois, the youngest of 5 children of Joseph and Christine Lehman. He entered the Air Force in 1949 and moved to Hampton as an accounting clerk at Langley Air Force Base, where he served 3 years. He was employed by B and F Contracting which later became Riverdale Management. He was a active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and part of the Sunday morning hospitality "crew". He was also a member of the Silver Sneakers of the Hampton YMCA. He is survived by his children, Joseph Lehman III, Chris Clark (Darryl), John Lehman, Ann Hart (Jim), Tim Lehman (Donna), and Teresa Lehman (Paul), his 7 grandchildren and 8 great-children. He also leaves behind Beverly Lehman, the mother of his children, and special friends Betty and George Palko. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, sisters and his grandson, Steve Hart. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7 PM, Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by the Rev. Sean Prince and Msgr Joseph Lehman III. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 6-7 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the Food Pantry of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Arrangements by R.
