Joseph LUCIANE Obituary

HAYES - On Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, Joseph P. Luciane, 'Papa Joe,' entered into eternal rest, at the age of 80, after a brief illness.
He was born July 2, 1929, to the late Dino and Kathleen Luciane. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Papa Joe was a native of Scranton, Pa., formerly of Lowell, Mass., and had been a resident of Gloucester since 1996. He served in the Army Air Corps and was a proud member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 13, Yorktown, Va. He retired from Raytheon Corporation in Lowell, Mass. Papa Joe loved fishing, boating and spending time with his lovely wife and family members. He will be remembered for giving sound advice and loving support to his family. Papa Joe dedicated his life to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Corbett Luciane; 11 children, Rose Redding and husband, Jim, Ann Marie Monburger and husband, Paul, Patricia Crossin, Joseph Luciane, Dino Luciane and special friend, Kim Price, all of Pennsylvania, Kevin Costa, Kimberly Landry and husband, Gordan, Karol Rivera and husband, Jimmy, Kristine Shields, all of Virginia,
Karen Frene and husband, Robert of New Hampshire, Kathleen Costa of Massachusetts; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and Angel, his furry friend.
A Vigil Service, officiated by the Rev. Michael Joly, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Yorktown, Va. The funeral Mass of the Lord's Resurrection will follow at 10 a.m.
Donations in Mr. Luciane's memory may be sent to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church Social Ministry, 315 Harris Grove Lane, Yorktown, VA 23692.

Caring and nurturing he did not fail.

To those who new him he was larger than man. But to the six he took on, he was by far a godsend.

We will remember him for his love and attention. Also the love for his other five we must mention.

He will never be forgotten. In our hearts he will stay. A FATHER to remember forever and a day.
