NEWPORT NEWS - K.P. 'Hook' Harrell, 56, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012, at home.
He was a lifelong Peninsula resident. He worked as a carpenter and roofer. He was an avid NASCAR, Green Bay Packer and N.Y. Yankee fan. He loved to play golf and worked for many professional race teams.
Survivors include his children, Lauren 'Buckwheat' Harrell, Ashly 'Queenie' Moore, and Michael Paul 'Allstar' Harrell; sister, Paula Dawes; grandchildren, Joseph 'Skunk' Ayers Jr., Shelbi 'Putter' Withrow, Gregory 'Bug' Edwards Jr., Alexa 'NikNik' Harrell, Nicholas Paul 'Buckshot' Harrell; and a host of friends and family, including Wayne Wyatt and family.
The family will receive friends starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m., at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Potter officiating.
