Katherine CROCKER Obituary

HAMPTON - Katherine Lousie Crocker, 77, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, after a courageous battle with COPD.
She was a native of Isle of Wight County and had been a resident of Hampton for 53 years. Louise was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, brave and noble throughout her life. She recently celebrated her 62nd wedding anniversary. She was a member of First United Church of Christ on Todds Lane in Hampton. Louise spent many hours volunteering at Hampton General Hospital, alongside the candy stripers in the mid 70's. She enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and spent many hours doing hand work.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Odell Eley Atkinson and Josephine Braswell Williams; brother, William Joseph Atkinson; and half-sister, Shirley Robertson.
Survivors include her husband, Emanuel W. Crocker; two sons, Larry Crocker, and Dennis Odell Crocker and his wife, Teresa; half-brother, William Donald Williams; and two grandchildren, Justin Adams Crocker and Nicole Marie Crocker.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, Jan. 3, at Peninsula Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lary Diehl and the Rev. Lisa Gaul, officiating. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Reception following the burial at St. Lukes UMC, 300 Ella Taylor Road, Yorktown.
