HAMPTON - Kenneth Harold Gaskins, 79, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013. Born in Hopewell, VA, he has been a lifelong resident of the Peninsula, where he was well known for his artistic abilities. He painted many nautical scenes under the name "Captain Harold". He also worked as a sub-contractor in construction and was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas W. Gaskins. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis Gaskins; daughter, Bonnie S. Childress of Norfolk; sons, Dennis W. Gaskins of Albuquerque, NM and David H. Gaskins of Hampton; sister, Gail Robeson of South Carolina; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Harold's life will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, at LaCrosse Memorial Presbyterian Church. The family wishes expressions of sympathy to be to the
