Lance BREWER Obituary
Lance was an 8th grader at Page Middle School and a Boy Scout with Troop 133. He loved being outdoors, riding his dirt bike, fishing and playing football. Lance had a huge heart for everyone and always greeted you with a great big smile.
Lance will be sadly missed, but lovingly remembered by, his mother, Erina Claudine Lynskey Rife and stepfather, Robert; father, Phillip Earl Brewer; sister, Desiree Marie Goins; maternal grandfather, James Lynskey and wife, Claudia; great-grandmother, Evelyn N. Coake; stepgrandparents, Dan and Delores Rife; girlfriend, Anna Hoover; uncles, Jonathan Lynskey, Tony Rife and Edward Rife; aunt, Melissa Bly; special cousins, Shannon Lynskey and Aidan Lynskey and a host of other cousins.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Petsworth Baptist Church, 2471 Hickory Fork Road, Gloucester. Interment will follow in Windsor Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.

I was so shocked to read of Lance's passing. During the time that he was at T. C. Walker, I was an assistant there. I worked with him when he was in first grade in the Book Buddies program. He was such a loving and caring young man and I really enjoyed working with him. I remember when he grew his hair out to donate it to the Locks of Love. That was such a great thing he did. Know that my prayers are with you to offer you comfort in this very sad time.

Phil and family, you are in our prayers. We are not supposed to outlive our children until God decides to change his plans, much as he has done for Lance. We never met Lance, but he was a good friend of our son, Chris Hudson and nephew, Jeffrey Snow. They played video games to gether on guy nights at our son's house. We could not imagine losing a child and our hearts go out to you, Lance's family. May God be with you and give you strength and peace in this time of sorrow.
