HAMPTON - Everlasting peace was given to Lankford Lloyd Blair, as he departed this life on February 10, 2013. He was born on September 20, 1923 to the late William and Hattie Jerkins Blair in Edenton, N.C. A gifted Machinist for National Equipment Co. in New York, he proudly provided for his family living in Brooklyn, NY for over 40 years. Upon retiring, Lankford and wife, Vivian moved to the homestead in Edenton, NC, until declining health brought them to Hampton, Virginia, living close to family. Surviving Lankford are his wife of 65 years, Vivian Howell Blair, a son, Lankford Blair II (Joyce), a daughter, Darlene Blair-Brown (Henry) and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends. Viewing & family visitation will be on Friday, February 15, 2013, 6:30pm to 8:30pm at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, Va. 23669. Homegoing Service will be in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11:00 am.
