Peggy and I will always remember our times with Larry and Eve in the late 80's . I was an instructor at the Leadership School at Langley AFB and Peggy was the President of the NCO Wives club. Both Larry and Eve were instrumental in helping us perform those jobs. Larry would always come down to the school and offer insight to the students and instructors about the Air Force. He had a way with the young troops and always left them on a positive note. Peggy and I will miss you Larry.

Sue and I didn't know Larry for an extended period of time, but, when we met him we knew he was a special person. Our son bought a house next door to Larry and Eve and from day one they were very obliging to may son's family. But, that was just Larry's way. He always asked about my wife when she got sick and constantly offered assistance to us.
Sue and I offer our most heart felt condolences to Larry's family. He will be missed.

I work with Mr. Shellhammer's son, Larry. I have only worked with him for a year, but it is a testament to his father on what a remarkable son he raised. Larry is the best boss I could ever ask for, and am sorry for the loss of his father. Much love to him and the entire Shellhammer family.

I knew the Chief when I was the Hospital Akministrator at Langley from 1983-1987. I would see him on a occasion at the BX pharmacy, where I volunteer now. He was a wonderful example to all enlisted and officer personnel. We lost a Good one. May God bless you all at this time.

I first meet Larry in 1977 and immediately thought, "here is a good guy," but we really didn't really get to know each other well until we began playing golf together few years ago. That's when I found out that my original assessetment was true.
He will be sorely missed.
Goodbye my friend.
