Leona SPRUEL Obituary

HAMPTON - Leona Micitto Lewis Spruel, 96, daughter of the late Leon Micitto and Mary Johnson Micitto Wheeler, slipped away quietly into eternal rest on Monday, May 31, 2010.
Born March 8, 1914, in Lakeland, La., she was one of eight children and received the Lord as her savior at the early age of 10.
After she relocated to Hampton to live with her son and daughter-in-law, she became a devoted member and Deaconess of Antioch Baptist Church of Hampton, pastured by the Rev. Raymond L. Lassiter Jr.
Preceding her in rest is her husband, Andrew Spruel; and grandson, John Daniel Lewis Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son and daughter-in-law, John D. and Diedra M. Lewis; grandson, Daniel O. Lewis; nephews, Wilbert, Larry, and Ray Ferdinand of Louisiana; nieces, Martha L. McQuillon and Ann Bynum of California; and a number of grand nephews, nieces, and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, June 6, 2010, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., at Parklawn – Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held Monday morning, June 7, 2010, at 11 a.m., at Antioch Baptist Church, 1563 Old Buckroe Road, Hampton. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Park.

Beloved Lew, Diedra and Danny,

Know that my prayers are with you daily in this your time of mourning. I pray that our God, the God of all comfort, will undergird you today and for months to come with His Strength and love. Miss Leona lived a full life and God has called her home! Let's celebrate her life as we look forward to seeing her again in glory! With much love in Christ,
