Lila CEASER Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Lila M. Ceaser answered the Master's call peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, in St Francis Nursing Center. Her journey here on earth began on Jan. 1, 1920, the daughter of the late Anna and Vasco Williams, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
In her youth, she gave her life to Christ and became a devoted member of Carters Chapel Baptist Church. She faithfully served her church as member of the Usher Board. While living in Williamsburg, she attended St. John Baptist Church on Penniman Road. She retired from J.P. Stevens Company, in Roanoke Rapids, after many years of service. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her son, William "Billy" Ceaser; and her brothers, Calvin Williams and George Williams.
She leaves to cherish her blessed memories, her daughter, Cynthia Lassiter (Curtis); and her son, Calvin Ceaser, both of Williamsburg; her sisters, Marie Coles (Wallace Brock) and Maxine Nicholas, both of Baltimore, Md., Velois Young of Newport News, Florence Hampton (Dennis), of Roanoke Rapids and Virginia Young (Alvin), of Skippers, Va.; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Janice Ceaser; her sister-in-law, Pearline Williams; her six grandchildren; her six great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.
A funeral service, celebrating the life she lived, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, in Carters Chapel Baptist Church, 490 Everetts School Road, Roanoke Rapids, N.C., with the Rev. Yarborough officiating. Interment will follow in the Williams' Family Cemetery. Family and Friends will assemble at 501Tam O Shanter Blvd. by 6 a.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends and Mrs. Ceaser may be viewed in the church beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday. Following the service for Mrs. Ceaser the family will gather for a repast in Riverside Garden Park on Thelma Road, Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
