Linda RAVENSCROFT Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Linda J. (Harris) Ravenscroft, 59, of Newport News, Va., passed away Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, in Riverside Regional Medical Center, New Port News, Va.
She was born April 25, 1951, in Farmington, Pa. She was the daughter of Charles H. and Katherine Harris of Ohiopyle, Pa.
Linda was employed at Williamsburg Landing Retirement Community in Williamsburg, Va., as a Certified Nursing Assistant for six years.
She was a member of the Reformation Lutheran Church in Newport News, Va., for 16 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles H. Harris; and a brother, Gene Harris.
Surviving her are best friend, Steve Ravenscroft of New Port News, Va.; her mother, Katherine Harris of Ohiopyle, Pa.; brother, Larry S. Harris and wife, Anita of Jackson, Ohio, brother, K. Dale Harris of Lemont Furnace, Pa., sister, Carol L. Parker and husband, Bob of Ohiopyle, Pa.; brother, R. David Harris and wife, Norma of Courtland, Ohio, brother, Edward C. Harris and wife, Tina of Ohiopyle, Pa., Diane L. Herring of Ohiopyle, Pa, sister, Patty A. Morrison and husband, David of Ohiopyle, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Jane Harris. Linda will be greatly missed by her family, co-workers and many friends.
There will be no viewing or services in Pennsylvania or Virginia.
Cremation of Linda's remains will be completed in Virginia. Her urn of remains will be buried at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News, Va. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

My Deepest Sympathy to ALL of Linda's Family.
Linda was a lovely person with a heart of gold. She was so very kind and very thoughtful. I am grateful to have known Linda and I will miss her greatly. We met at Reformation Lutheran Church. She truly was a Blessing to all of us and to all who knew her.
God Rest her Soul and God Bless her Family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Ravenscroft struck me as such a caring and sweet lady. She was always so pleasant even when times were hard for her. Heaven sure did get an angel.
