Lonnie Mercer Obituary

HAMPTON - Mr. Lonnie Mercer, 80, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009.
He was born July 19, 1929, in Rocky Mount, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Hattie Mercer.
Left to cherish his memory are five children, Yvonnette Bailey (James Jr.) of Newport News, Toni Mercer of Hampton, Renaldo Mercer (Wendy) of Chester, Tanya Mercer (Gene) of Georgia, Romaine Mercer (Kristyna) of Nevada and (Renee Mercer of California); eight grandchildren, Kesha Hall, Edwin L. Hall III, Shaun Sanders, Michael Burgess, Kelsey Maynor, Fallon Mercer, Tevin Mercer, and Stefan Mercer; one great-grandchild, Brandon Maynor; and one sister, Shirley Flowers of Rocky Mount, N.C.
Viewing will be today, Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Nickelson-Cummings Funeral Home, 4304 Victoria Blvd. Hampton. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1625 Big Bethel Rd., Hampton, VA 23666.
