Lorinda BERTUGLIA Obituary
She was born Sept. 29, 1918, in Newark, N.J., and been a resident of Newport News since February 2008.
Her mother, Juliet Mango; father, Anthony Mango; brother, Michael Mango; and great-grandson, Austin Ludwigsen preceded Lorinda in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Lori Penman and her husband, Tom of Newport News, Connie Bertuglia of Show Low, Ariz., and Sally Ludwigsen and her husband, Ron of Hope Mills, N.C.; grandchildren, Lisa Ann Wilson of Hampton, LoriAnn Penman of Newport News, Eric Ludwigsen of San Angelo, Texas, Sara Harris of Hope Mills, N.C., Paul Ludwigsen of Gulfport, Fla., and Daniel Ludwigsen of Hope Mills, N.C.; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Lorinda, her husband, Sam, and three daughters moved from Newark in 1955 to settle in St. Petersburg, Fla. Lorinda spent most of her time raising her daughters and looking after her parents while working at Crest Leather and then later at Kmart where she retired in 1983. She was also greatly involved in helping her husband with his many years with the Knights of Columbus.
Lorinda will be interned next to her husband, Sam, in the family cemetery in Hope Mills, N.C. The graveside service will be on Saturday, June 26, 2010.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to your local Catholic Charities.
