Grant,
I was so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. What a great lady. You are in my prayers now for the sorrow you must feel and later for the peace that God will grant you.

Dear Cornelius,
I was so sorry to hear of Lucille's passing but I know she has had a long road of suffering and now she will be free from pain. You made this time as comforting for her as you could and we all admire your strength. May the Lord be especially close to you during this difficult time. We hope to see you soon but I cannot attend the service because Donnie is not doing well at this time. We love you, Marie and Donnie

Cornelius...Rube and I are very sorry to learn of Lucille's passing. We know as you do that she is no longer suffering and in God's heaven. She would always bring joy to those around her. I remember sitting on her bed @ the Newport as she showed me her new cell phone as she was learning all the buttons to push to make calls and get messages. She always wanted to stay in touch with you as you two were inseparable. God will watch over you as you grieve for your soul mate. I was so happy the time you visited our church with your friends to see the army band concert & the time you and Lucille came home from France and showed movies to the family. Lucille was so proud of you serving your country. You both were truely two of God's most beautiful children. We will keep you in our prayers each day as you mourn the loss of your lovely wife, Lucille.

Lucille was my cousin and what a sweet lady she was! She and Cornelius her husband were always positive on their outlook on life...always having kind things to say and making people feel good. Their son Grant was the manager on the NNHS Track team in 1966 and helped Julie Conn with the many tasks of running a track program. I was fortunate to be a part of that team. Grant preceded his mother in death in an accident as he was trying to visit her. My sympathy to Cornelius and the family. I'll always have special memories of Lucille and her family.
