Lydia MYRICK Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Lydia Renegar Myrick, born Oct. 26, 1920, in Iredall County, N.C., passed away at Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Va., on Dec. 27, 2009.
Lydia retired from the Naval Supply Center, Norfolk, Va., after 30 years of service. She was a member of Spurgeon Memorial Baptist Church, and served as a Meals On Wheels volunteer in Norfolk for 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harvey Watkins. Survivors include her husband, Shirley Alton Myrick and his children, Alton Wayne Myrick and his wife, Carolyn of Virginia Beach, Va., and Corliss Ann Faircloth and her husband, Gerald Faircloth of Smithfield, Va.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Howard Renegar and wife, Lucille of Denver, N.C., Johnnie Renegar and wife, Katherine of Winton-Salem, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted by Dr. Paul C. Lawson at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling the arrangements. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.
