Margaret GRAHAM

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - Margaret "Margie" Knotick Graham, 90, beloved mother, died at her daughter and son-in-law's home in San Antonio, Texas on Nov. 29, 2009. Margie will be fondly remembered and cherished by family and friends. She never asked for anything for herself, yet was always willing to assist anyone in need. Her faith in God and His blessing were her strength in life. She was born on June 6, 1919, in Monongahela, Pa. A longtime resident of Newport News, Va., for 55 years, she was the loving and devoted wife of Harry L. Graham, who died June 27, 1987.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Barbara G. Head and her husband, George E. Head of San Antonio, Texas; her two brothers, Frederick J. Knotick of Rockville, Md., and Raymond S. Knotick of Butler, Pa.; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was a Charter member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and St. James Guild. A past member of the XYZ Club sponsored by the First United Methodist Church, " The Live Wires" breakfast club with Chestnut Memorial United Methodist Church and "The Autumn Club" sponsored by St. Steven's Episcopal Church. Also a member of AARP and NARFE.
We will miss your presence, kisses, hugs, smile, laughter, and jokes.
A rosary service for Margie will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at Peninsula Funeral Home, Newport News, and a Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Newport News, Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at noon, preceding the gravesite service. Margaret will be laid to rest at the Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton, Va., next to her beloved husband.
The family wishes in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Society.
