Margaret HAMLIN Obituary
Born on April 26, 1919, in Surry, she was the daughter of the late John Robert and Maggie Bennett Garrison. She was the widow of Charles Thomas Hamlin Jr. and a member of the Surry United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Virginia H. Woody and her husband, Art; a son, Charles Thomas Hamlin III; a grandson, Charles Alan Woody and his wife, Michelle and their two children Dillon and Noel and a granddaughter, Anna Woody. She is also survived by two nieces and two nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Martha Pleasants; and a brother, Robert Garrison.
A funeral service will be held at the Purviance Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Wakefield on Friday, January 8, 2010, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be posted at www.jtmorriss.com. Dear Jenny and Tommy. My parents (John and Polly Minor) were good friends of your parents when they lived in Surry. That friendship continued when they moved to Williamsburg. I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Jenny Rose and Tommy. So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I would always try to visit your mother and father whenever I made a trip to Surry County. They were so kind to my mother, who lived just up the street from them. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families.

Dear Jenny and Tommy, I’m so sorry we lost contact with each other, but I just loved being your best friend through elementary/high school and hanging out at your house. Your Mom was the greatest. I can remember one time just before Christmas she took us out of school and we made a trip to Richmond. I thought that was so neat. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Mary Anne (Baker)
