Margaret BRADSHAW Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Margaret Meredith Bradshaw, 85, went to be with her beloved husband of 62 years, Henry Bradshaw, on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2009.
Born in Dinwiddie, Margaret was the Valedictorian of Poquoson High Class of 1943. A lifetime resident of Newport News, she worked for 44 years at Newport News Shipbuilding. She was a longtime member of the Northside Christian Church and the Philothean Class and served as a Sunday school teacher. She was known for her hospitality and love of chocolate.
Margaret shared a special family bond with Raymond and Margie Stallings of Yorktown, that allowed them and their three sons to provide love and life experiences with her and Henry, and learned to call them Nana and Papa. Their sons are Tim Stallings and his wife, Christina of Atlanta, Capt. Joseph Stallings and wife, Laura and their sons, Luke Bradshaw Stallings and George Brower Stallings of Converse, Texas, and 2nd Lt. Scott Stallings of Yorktown. She is also survived by special nieces, Priscilla Osterhout and Judy Hodges, and other nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, immediately followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. by Pastor Larry Jones and Pastor Frank Forehand. Burial will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News.
Memorial contributions may be made to Northside Christian Church, 1300 Emerson Lane, Yorktown, VA 23693. Online condolences to www.claytorrollins.com. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

Margie and Raymond: As I think of Henry and Margaret, I can see them couple skating at the Hygiea roller rink in East End. You never said "Margaret" without saying "Henry" in the same sentence. I can remember when she learned to sew and gave a talk at one of the Ladies' Retreats and she used sewing as part of the lesson. She taught Jeff in SS and he learned so much from her. It's hard to think of the folks who are no longer with us that molded Northside into what it is today. But just for that reason, they are enjoying Eternity. Blessings and sympathy. Penney

What great memories I have of Mr. and Mrs. Bradshaw skating when we would go with Youth Group. They were an AMAZING couple! I know that Mr. Bradshaw is happy with the love of his life with him now.
God bless you all!

Raymond, Margie & Family,

You're in our thoughts and prayers today as you lay a very special lady to rest beside her best friend and lifetime love! They were a wonderful Christian couple, and you impacted their lives as much as they did yours!

We love you!
