Marian OLMSTEAD Obituary

HAYES - Marian Emily Hayes Olmstead, 61, passed away on Feb. 17, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.
Marian was a native of Newport News and a 1966 graduate of Ferguson High School. She graduated in 1969 from the Obici Hospital School of Nursing. Marian enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing and vacationing at the ocean. She had lived in North Carolina with her husband for the last 38 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Sanford Hayes.
She is survived by her husband, John Michael Olmstead; daughter, Kelly Olmstead Tanner and husband, Scott; granddaughter, Emily Hayes Tanner; mother, Mary Hayes; sisters, Paula Wheat and husband, Richard, Jean Farrar and husband, George, Kathleen Hogge and husband, Charles; and brother, Paul Guy Hayes and wife, Karen.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
