NEWPORT NEWS - Marjorie Gray Childress Melvin, 92, a Norfolk native and widow of John S. Melvin, died June 16, 2012.
She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk, the Garden Club of Greater Kempsville, Elizabeth River Woman's Club, and the Princess Anne Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by two daughters, Ellen Edwards and husband Tom, of Wake Forest, Malinda Dagenhart and husband Terry Troyer, of Newport News; granddaughters, Erin Watson, of Wake Forest, Amelia Knight, of Virginia Beach, and Meredith Martz, of Norfolk; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Stephen Nicholls at 1 p.m. Friday, June 22, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.
