NORFOLK - Mary Lee White, nee Leatherwood, born May 29, 1930, in Norfolk, Va., the daughter of Howard G. Leatherwood Sr. and Erma Barco Leatherwood, passed away on July 4, 2012, in Williamsburg, Va. Her husband, William White, predeceased her.

Mary is survived by her beloved son, Peter C. White; her brother, Howard G. Leatherwood Jr., and his wife, Suzanne. She will be sorely missed by many dear relatives in Virginia Beach, the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee. She will especially be missed by Ron Riner, Cindy and Butch Wheel, and other close friends in Williamsburg, Va. Mary spent her early childhood in Virginia Beach with her dearly loved Barco cousins and graduated from Oceana High School in 1948. She was known for her interests in cats, flower arrangement, photograph albums, and arts and crafts. She treasured family visits to relatives in western North Carolina and the opportunity to spend time with loved ones there. She attended local church services, officiated by the late Rev. Harold Twining, in Williamsburg for more than 25 years.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2012, at Princess Anne Memorial Park on North Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, Va.
