Mary LOCKHART Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Mary Harvey Smith Lockhart, 79, of Newport News, Va., passed away Nov. 18, 2009, in Memphis, Tenn.
Mary was a member of Hilton Christian Church. She attended Lynchburg College, College of William and Mary, and Texas Tech University, receiving a Masters in Fine Arts. A member of Gamma Tau Sigma sorority, and the Jamestown Society, she pursued a career in art education and as a watercolor artist. She retired from Colonial Williamsburg.
Mary is predeceased by her son, Laurence Craig Peace; and husband, Floyd Lockhart.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Lauren Hicks of Memphis, Tenn., and Janet Leslie Sciecinski of Boyertown, Pa.; and eight grandchildren, Kimberly Hicks, 1st Lt. Sean Hicks, USMC, Kristin Hicks, Kelsey Hicks, Kathryn Hicks, Erica Shelton, Bryan Myers, Michael Sciecinski.
Burial and graveside services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. A memorial service will be held at Hilton Christian Church on Friday, Dec 11, at 10 a.m. in Newport News, Va.
