WILLIAMSBURG - Brownie (Mary) Wilson Andrews, 85 of Williamsburg passed away November 26, 2013 at the Hospice House of Williamsburg. Beloved wife of the late Grady P. Andrews, Sr. Brownie was born October 31,1928, in Stokes, NC. She came from a family of fourteen and began playing the piano at the age of four. She has been a Williamsburg resident since 1954. She retired as Director of Sales at the Lord Paget Hotel in Williamsburg. She worked sixteen years for the York County Transportation Department. She was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church in Williamsburg. There she taught Sunday School, directed the Junior Choir and had been a full time pianist and organist for the church. She played in many weddings and funerals throughout the Williamsburg community. She devoted her spare time to minister in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, etc. with her music. She spent her last years residing at Morningside Assisted Living Williamsburg and Colonial Manor Williamsburg where her music will echo in the lives of the residents and staff who still remain. She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Sue Andrews Parkin (2007). She is survived by her daughters, Sara Andrews Shoff and Husband, Stephen of Marshfield, MA, Renie Andrews of Williamsburg,VA, and a son, Grady (Andy) Andrews, Jr. of Chester, VA. She has nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Fletcher Wilson of Rocky Mount, NC. and the Rev.Willis Wilson of Greenville, NC. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 6-8 p.m.at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA. The funeral will be held Monday, December 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Williamsburg Memorial Park.
