Mattie Regan Obituary

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY - Mattie 'Leola' Carter Regan, 102, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009.
A native of Chadbourn, N.C., she had been a resident of Chesterfield County, Va., since 1952. Leola was married to James Hugh Regan of Cerro Gordo, N.C., on May 23, 1925. She was a loving mother to seven children; one daughter and six sons. She loved children and assisted in the raising of many of her grandchildren. She had 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren.
Leola was preceded in death by her husband, James Hugh Regan; and two sons, Lawrence Everett Regan and Montgomery John Regan. Survivors include her daughter, Delores R. Hardy; her sons, James Hugh Regan Jr., Linwood B. Regan and his wife, Helen, Frank Hoyt Regan and his wife, Shirley, Shelby Gene Regan and his wife, Judy; and daughter-in-law, Sandra.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., Richmond. Interment will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Piney Forest Church Cemetery in Chadbourn, N.C. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.

Gene, Judy and family. I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
