Melvin PARRISH Obituary
A beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he was a native of Johnson County, N.C., and was a Peninsula resident for over 57 years. He served in the Navy during WW II and worked as a master carpenter, until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Eloise Parrish and leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Sarada "Sue" Manuel and her husband, Cliff Manuel Sr. of Newport News, Paula Ann Kirby and her husband, Danny of Poquoson, and Pamela K. Fizer and her husband, Curt of Pilot; one son, Tony Lee Parrish and his wife, Wanda of Newport News; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 300 E. McIver Street, Angier, NC 27501. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Cliff Manuel Jr., at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier, N.C.
The family requests that In lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Denbigh Christian Church, 816 Moyer Road, Newport News, VA 23608.
