Mildred WADE Obituary
She was born on March 11, 1917 in Lenoir County, N.C., to the late James R. and Annie Rachel Jarman Holland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Douglas Wade.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnne Wade Butterfield and husband, Allen of Christiansburg, Va.; and her son, Hugh Grantley Wade and wife, Catherine of Raleigh, N.C.; granddaughters, Jessie Butterfield Beard and husband, Randall of Warrenton, Va., and Jennifer Butterfield Cooper and husband, Donald of Blacksburg, Va.; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Grady and Ruth Kelley both of Kinston, N.C.; and numerous other family and friends.
The family will receive friends on from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Horne Funeral Home. A graveside funeral will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010, in Peninsula Memorial Gardens, Newport News, Va., conducted by Father Dennis L. Sossi.

Our deepest sympathies on the loss of your mother, JoAnne. I have many fond memories of your mom and I can still picture her in your "growing up" home on Paddock Drive.
