Minnie GRAY Obituary
Minnie was a native of Tar Heel/Bladen County, N.C., and a resident of Newport News since 1951. She was a hairdresser, and self-employed since 1959. Minnie was a member of the West Hampton Baptist Church, and Truth Seekers Sunday school class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert R. Gray; mother and father, Braxton and Mary Ann Martin; brothers, Raymond and Edwin D. Martin; and sister, Inez M. Wilkins.
Minnie is survived by her daughter, Elsie Gray Krauter, husband, David, of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sons, Braxton R. Gray and wife, Ginny, of Carrollton, and Preston L. Gray, of Newport News; five grandchildren, Lisa Hosea, Kelli Gilder, Jennifer Schuetz, Brian Gray, and Jeffrey Krauter; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lila Hester, of Shallotte, N.C.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff at James River Convalescent Center and Riverside Hospice. Memorials may be made to West Hampton Baptist Church Building Fund.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, at Peninsula Funeral Home, burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Cemetery.

Elsie, Preston, Buddy and Family
Mrs. Gray was a very special lady and will surely be missed by all who knew her. She loved all of her family and was so proud of them.
She was my hairdresser for over 30 years and kept us all looking good. She was always sharing her veggies from her garden with us.We all loved her and miss her.
God bless each of you and pray God will comfort you during this time.

Our heart goes out to you at this time in the loss of one loved so much by all who came in touch with her.
It seems only yesterday that we grew up as neighbors, and mom would go to Mrs. Gray to get her hair cut and permed.
Everyone knew and loved her.
She will be missed by all, but the sweetess memories will linger for a lifetime. God has a purpose and plan for her and for each of us.
Just know that WE CARE!
