Nellie SCHAEFER Obituary
She was born to the late Nathan and Ethel Steenburg on Aug. 25, 1924, in Union, N.Y.
As a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, she had taught several Sunday school classes, was a member of United Methodist Women, and attended the John Phillips Sunday school class. She had been a Red Cross volunteer at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Surviving members of her family include her husband of 64 years, Stephen H. Schaefer Jr.; children, Stephen H. Schaefer III and wife, Karen, Edward J. Schaefer and wife, Connie, James N. Schaefer and wife, Terri, Evelyn M. Schaefer and companion, David Hamm, and Clayton A. Schaefer and wife, Judy; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, Dec. 21, 2009, at Wesley United Methodist Church. A reception will be held in the Church social hall following the service. Entombment will be held privately.

I remember Nellie sitting in a chair reading "Gone With the Wind". I am 10 years her junior and I bet I bugged the dickens out of her. I always thought the world of Nellie and my smypathies go to you, Stephen, and your family. She will never be forgotten. God Bless You and yours,

I only knew Nellie while at Bunny's
She had the appointment just before me.
I know only that she was one elegan,
regal lady, and it was always a pleasure talking to her.
