Nettie WEST

HAMPTON - Nettie Todd West, 93, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2010, after a long illness.
Mrs. West was a member of Liberty Baptist Church for the past 47 years. During most of those years, she attended Sunday School and was a member of several of the church circles. In more recent years, she was ministered to by the Homebound and Nursing Home Ministry at Liberty.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ethell C. West.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean W. Moore and husband, Howard; two grandchildren, Ashleigh A. Chitwood and her husband, Chad, and Howard W. Moore III; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Nathan Chitwood, all of Hampton; brother-in-law, W.M. West Jr. and his wife, Frances of Charleston, S.C.; and one sister-in-law, Annie Belle Lee of Conway, S.C.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Peninsula Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 15, also at the funeral home with the Rev. Joe Hunt and the Rev. Don Phelps officiating. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
The family would like to express special thanks to Bayside of Poquoson for their support and care for Mrs. West for these past months. Special thanks are also expressed to Preston and Kay Lane, who have been the most wonderful friends and neighbors anyone could ever have.
