Otis CULBRETH Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Otis B. Culbreth, 91, of Newport News, Va., died Oct. 29, 2009, after a brief illness.
Mr. Culbreth was born Dec. 7, 1917, in Hope Mills, N.C., the son of the late Jim and the late Margie Culbreth. He was well known in Hampton and Newport News. His business, Otis Foreign Car Repair operated for 30 years in both cities. He was a racing enthusiast showing great interest in NASCAR and Indy racing.
His wife, Lola F. Culbreth; and their sons, Jimmy and Tommy Culbreth; and two daughters, Patsy and Linda Kaye Culbreth, preceded our Dad in death.
He is survived by three his sons, Lawrence D. "Peewee" Culbreth, Howard Culbreth, Johnny Culbreth; and three daughters, Wilma Jean Reuss, Gerry Colligan and Frankie Ourada; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family expresses deepest thanks to his loving caregiver, Tammy Wilson.

Dad, you lived a long and good life. Being born in 1917, you have just about seen it all. The values you taught us when we were growing up are priceless. I hope that we will all strive to teach those same values to our kids and grand kids. You will be greatly missed. We love you. Rest in peace.
