NEWPORT NEWS - Patricia Jean Bethea, of Newport News, passed on to meet her Saviour on Nov. 15, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was one of six children, born in Newport News, Va. on February 28, 1940, to the late John Bailey Sr. and Alphia Bailey. After graduation, Patricia joined the Air Force where she earned several medals and accommodations, and met her future husband Alvin. This intelligent, caring woman always put others ahead of herself. Any accomplishments, rewards, or successes received by the family, were due to her critical involvement. She was the glue that held the family together. She was creative, innovative, and supportive of so many. Patricia also was a member of First Baptist Church East End where she served as a member of the Golden Key and Missionary Ministries. Her faith in GOD allowed her to overcome challenges and illnesses.
