Paul WARNER Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Paul Garfield Warner, born Sept. 24, 1932, to the late Catherine E. Johnson and Levin Lee Sr.
He attended elementary school in Wittman, Md., high school in Easton, Md., and Bowie State University in Maryland from 1949 to 1952. Paul joined the United States Air Force in 1953 and served through the Korean War and Vietnam Conflict. He retired in May 1973 after receiving numerous medals and accommodations.
A resident of Newport News since 1971, he served his community as an insurance professional and tax practitioner.
He is survived by a wife, Verletta Warner of Newport News, Va.; sons, Joseph Wilson of Cambridge, Md., and Wayne Warner; daughter, Lynn Cramer of Wilmington, Del.; two stepchildren, Bobby Bright of Fayetteville, N.C., and Verletta Venable of Newport News; eight grandchildren, Carletta, Erin, Ryan, Marc, Paul, Nino, Marquise and Kahliah; sister, Helen Sprow of Largo, Md.; brother, Jerry Lee of Long Island, N.Y.; cousin, Charles Warner of Maryland. He is also survived by Ruth Venable, a loving and devoted Christian companion and loyal supporter for 20 years.
Viewing will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at the Chapel of the M.E. Fisher Funeral Home.

To the family of Paul Warner, I extend my deepest sympathy. To my sister,Ruth, Paul will be missed by our family as well. He was a pleasant person always there when needed. He is at Peace now with God.
