Percell Trower Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Percell "Al" Trower, a resident of Newport News, Va., was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Nov. 5, 2009, in Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News. "Al" as he was so affectionately called, was born on Nov. 1, 1952, to the late Rev. Sandy O. Trower Sr. and Mary Viola Washington Trower, in Charles City County, Va.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nieanca Trower Henderson; and three sisters, Paulette Trower-Delaney, Lois Ann Washington Lemon, and Kate Trower.
He will be forever missed and remembered by his beloved and devoted son, Al-Shakier Trower Henderson (Ashley); his three granddaughters, Aryanna, Aviance, and Amaya Henderson, all of Newport News; six sisters, Ervine Brown of Richmond, Va., Odessa White of Newport News, Prince Etta Wallace (Curley) of Williamsburg, Va., Joyce Penny (William) of Newport News, and Patricia Fox (Spencer) of Hampton, Va.; three brothers, Joel Washington (Beverly) of Richmond, Horace Trower of Richmond, and Sandy O. Trower Jr. of Williamsburg; his stepmother, Mattie Trower of Charles City, Va.; his devoted nieces, Sharnell Trower, Taya Trower, Latasha Delaney and Michelle White; his devoted nephews, Moses Delaney, and George Delaney Jr.; a host of other relatives and many caring friends.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at noon Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Charles City, Va., officiated by the Rev. George Magazine. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends will assemble by 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Whiting's Funeral Home, 7005 Pocahontas Trail. Mr. Trower may be viewed in the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 10, 2009. Professional services entrusted to the staff of Whiting's Funeral Home, Williamsburg, Va.
