WILLIAMSBURG - Peter Georgios Haramis, our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, godfather, son, brother-in-law, and friend became our Guardian Angel, Friday, May 21, 2010.
Peter was born March 27, 1949, in Neapoli Lakonias, Greece, to the late Georgios and Kyriakoula Haramis. After serving in the Greek Air Force, he immigrated to the U.S., in 1973, becoming a self-employed painting contractor. Then after 20 years of experience and his growing passion for his craft, he established Haramis Painting in 1993.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Vasilios, who was killed in the South Tower on 9/11.
Peter will be sadly missed and always remembered by his wife, Katherine; his beloved young children, Eleni and Georgios; his mother-in-law, Sotina Konstantinou; his brother-in-law, John Konstantinou and his wife, Sheree and their children, Sotina, Dimitrios, and Christos; a sister-in-law, Christina Steele and her husband, Harley and their children Olivia and Katie; a sister, Eleni Tsignopoulos (Christos) of Whitestone, N.Y.; a brother, Starros Haramis (Dimitra) and their son, Georgios of Bronx, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Gloria Haramis and her children, Julia and Georgios of Staten Island, N.Y.; brother, Haralambos (Marika) of Neapoli, Greece; nephews, Georgios and Panayiotis and their families; and a niece, Xoulia (Georgios), all of Neapoli, Greece; brothers, Dimitrios and Ioannis and their families; sisters, Veneta and Zoe and their families, all of Greece; and many cousins and loving friends both local and Greece.
A special thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and staff who cared for Peter at PCI, Memorial Sloan-Kettering in New York, and MD Anderson in Houston, Texas.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010, at Bucktrout Funeral Home Chapel, with Father George Chioros officiating. Interment will follow in the Williamsburg Memorial Park.
