Ruth was someone I always tried to emulate and I have felt a great loss in my life since her passing. She will always be my mentor and the fond memories of our days together in Jehovahs'great work will warm my heart and comfort me. May Jehovah bring comfort to all those left behind until we are reunited in the new system that we all can look forward to, seeing Ruth back with us again very soon.

To Bill & Jewel and the entire Wickline/Cahoon Family: Robert and I were shocked and greatly saddened by Ruth's passing. Of all the people I have ever known, Ruth was the purest and most genuine example of faith and God's love.
My husband, Robert, and I worked with Ruth for more than 15 years at Life Savings Bank, prior to the merger with BB&T. She was such a comfort to us all! Her radiant smile, words of encouragement and joy she took from the simple pleasures in life, as well as her love of family & friends will forever be her true legacy. It seems to all of us that she was taken much too soon, but after reviewing her photos on this website, you cannot doubt that although brief, she lived a valuable and full life. She will be truly missed by all.

Dear family of Reva (I too remember her as Reva, not Ruth as I graduated from Maury with her in 1966. Her picture shows her as beautiful now as she was then--her beauty always seemed to come from within--the most special kind of beauty. I am sorry that I had lost touch with her over the years but I have many fond memories of her from high school days--we shared classes together--her beautiful smile would light up a room.

Ruth (who I knew as Reva) and I went to Maury High School together. I was impressed by her kindness then. Last year when at BB&T, I began speaking with Ruth Cahoon and before I knew it, I realized she was Reva Wickline! She had remained kind and gentle. I am sad that my friend has gone. Think about the good memories. That lessens the sadness. Know that my good thoughts and prayers are with you and with her. Ira-Joel Sartorius (Philadelphia, PA)

Oh Ruthie, how I'm going to miss your morning call or email to say "Hello" and ask how my day was going. I will miss your sweet smile and positive attitude. Always giving us the pep-u-up talk. You were there for me when I applied for the job in Raleigh, and you drove to Raleigh with me for my first interview. That was a fun day. I will miss all your stories about your family and all the great vacations that you and Bill had taken. I know you are looking down on us and are no longer in pain. My condolences to Bill and all your family. I will truly miss you.

Ruth was the best person I have ever known. I was a better person just for knowing Ruth. She had a heart of gold and was always there for me. One of many great memories was when we went to Hawaii, two crazy women on the loose. I love you always, Rita Osoway Summerlin

I had the privilege of working with Ruth at BB&T. Every work day began with a warm welcome and Ruth's radiant smile. She is by far the kindest person I have ever met. She has and will continue to inspire me to be a better person. I enjoyed getting to know her during our talks over lunch and I will never forget her infectious laugh. I will miss her every day. My heart and my sympathies go out to Bill and the rest of her family, who she so adoringly talked about. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

To Bill and the rest of the family of Reva Ruth. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Reva gave meaning to the words Genuine and Classy, both of which she was. She had a smile to light a room and a heart of gold to match. We will keep you and all the family in our thoughts and prayers during this time.

It is people like Ruth that cause us to reflect on ourselves. As already expressed Ruth was the epitomy of a spiritual woman and wife. Even if you did not know her well you cannot help to be touched because she touched so many. This loss is deep for many but espcially for the other parts of that three fold cord, Jehovah and Bill. Bill, be assured even now you are not totally alone as you have the love and support of family and especially Jehovah. His word states "...the peace of God that excels all thought will guard your hearts..." All of us, but especially family of Ruth can look forward to the time as the bible states: "He (Jehovah) will actually swallow up death forever,...he will wipe the tears from all faces". But for now we willingly support you and share your loss in our thoughts and prayers.

"Ruthie"-Ruth was a very special person who touched everyone she met in some way. It was my privilege that I met her and became a friend of hers. A dear friend who would have done anything for me and stood by me whatever came my way. She could always make me laugh and I loved her stories of her travels. Her love and devotion to her husband, her family, her friends, and her unwavering faith were something to behold on a daily basis. She was a wonderful person who made this world a better place by just being in it. I loved her and will miss her terribly. We have all lost a truly special person. She may be gone but she will never be forgotten. My sincere condolences to Bill and her entire family.

In all of the years I have know Ruth, I don't think I have ever seen her not smiling. She was a lovely lady....still is, I'm sure...and most friendly to a "relative" newcomer. I enjoyed my infrequent e-mail exchanges with Ruth.... always upbeat and optimistic.
