HAMPTON - Robert J. (Bob) Dewey, 89, passed away Monday Jan. 2, 2012.
Bob, son of Dr. Michael and Agnes Dewey, was a longtime Peninsula resident. He served in the Army, during WWII, and returned to Hampton where he worked as the Director of Education at Langley Air Force Base, and continued in the Army Reserve. He also served on the Hampton City School Board as both a member and chairman.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane Dewey Pate and son-in-law, Jerry Pate of Woodbridge, Va.; daughter, Michelle Dewey and son-in-law, Arthur Campbell of Winthrop, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Scott Dewey; and his daughter, Teresa Dewey.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 512 Buckroe Avenue, Hampton.
