Robert FOXE Obituary

HAMPTON - Robert Louis Foxe, 81, departed this life to his heavenly home on Sept. 19, 2011.
He retired after 44 years of service from the Newport News Shipbuilding. A native of Newport News (formerly Warwick County), he was born Feb. 21, 1930, to the late Junious and Ollie Foxe.
Robert was predeceased in death by his parents; a son, Robert Louis Jr.; a daughter, Sharon Lee; one sister, Lois F. Robinson; and three brothers, Sylvester, Calvin and Henry Foxe.
He is survived by his wife, Marion Suzyanne Gilchrist Foxe; two daughters, Patricia Anne (Patsy) Ewell of Chesapeake, Va., and Angelia Maria Foxe of Hampton, Va.; four sisters, Aretha Banks (Walter), Carrie Blair (Otis), Nancy Nicholson and Dorothy Evans (William), all of Newport News, Va.; one brother, Charles Foxe of Queens, N.Y.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Robert was a member of Queen Street Baptist Church, Hampton, where he was a member of The Young at Heart. He was also a member of Zedekiah Lodge #167.
Funeral service will be held at noon Friday at Queen Street Baptist Church. Entombment will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Viewing will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at Berceuse Funeral and Cremations, 2609 Cunningham Drive, Hampton. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
