Carole, I will never forget how wonderful Mr. Sherman was to me when I first started working in the Dept. of Theatre & Speech back in the 60s. He was so kind to me and made my adjustment so easy and pleasant. When he and Mr. Scammon showed up at my retirement in 1995..I then felt that my celebration was complete. Forever in my thougts and prayers.

A wonderful teacher and gentleman! Roger's instruction in theater lighting was engaging, insightful and fun. He often moved so silently into the lighting booth while we were practicing that we would be startled to see his smiling face behind us. (More than one student thought that Professor Sherman was trying to perpetuate the legend of the ghost of PBK Hall.) Thank you, Roger, for sharing your wisdom and good nature.

Uncle Roger took us to a Navel Museum on one of our visits to the East Coast. Before we arrived he told us there was a chain that went around the outside and that if we could pickup one link of the chain we could bring it home. Each link of this anchor chain must have been 200 pounds, needless to say it stayed put.
