Rowena FOLLETT Obituary

GLOUCESTER - Rowena Elaine Whitehouse Follett, 77, entered into eternal life on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010.
Mrs. Follett, formerly of Holtsville, Long Island, N.Y., had been a resident of Gloucester for the past 11 years. She taught high school English for 36 years for the Sayville Public School System on Long Island, later working for the Internal Revenue Service Processing Center in Holtsville for an additional 10 years. She was a gentle, quiet font of wisdom, a loving and giving presence for both family and community and a lifelong advocate for quality Academic and Arts Education.
She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen, and is survived by her husband of 54 years Calvin Lee Follett; daughter and son-in-law, Sally Ann DiSpirito and David DiSpirito; son and daughter-in-law, Richard Follett and Mary Ruth Alred Follett; sister, Thelma Riley; and grandchildren, Amanda, Deanna and Jesse.
At her own request, there will be a private graveside service for immediate family members only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wooten Woods Retreat Center, P.O.
