Roxie RICKS Obituary
She was the daughter of the late Willie and Martha Tann. She was a lifelong resident of Newport News, Va. Roxie was a faithful member of Walters Temple A.M.E. Zion Church until her health began to fell her. She sang in the choir and was also a deaconess.
Roxie was preceded in death by her late husband, the Rev. Eddie Ricks; five brothers, four sisters, one grandson; Allen D. Brewer and a son-in-law, Thomas R. Brewer.
Roxie leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Mrs. Ann Brewer of Newport News, and Mrs. Alice Jackson (Willie) of Hampton; one sister, Mrs. Missie Odom of Patterson, N.J.; two grandsons, Kelvin Brewer and Marcay Jones; four granddaughters, Darletta Lassiter, Wanda Brewer, Tonya Brewer and Karyn Yeldell; three great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 28, 2010. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 29, 2010, at Psalms Ministries located at 724 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA 23607. The Eulogist will be given by Pastor Domeka Kelley. Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens Cemetery. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks.
