Grandma Fletcher was a wonderful lady. She would tell you like it was and if it wasn't what you wanted to hear that was ok because grandma wanted us all to do good and the one thing she wanted the most was to know that we was saved and was in a church and doing good. We may have make some wrong turns in are walk but she loved us anyway. Grandma was a pillar of strength. She was strong willed and knew what and where she wanted to go in life. She helped others in so many ways. We will all miss her very much but we also have to remember that she is in peace and we will all see her again. Grandma is a angel in Heaven and she is with the ones that have left us. I want to ask you this. Do you know Jesus as your Lord and savor? Have you asked him into your heart? If not please do and walk in the word of God. get in a church and read the Bible. Grandma is waiting for us and if we live by the word and not by the would we will see grandma again. So let me ask you one more time do you know where you are going when you pass away and Are you ready?

My deepest sympathies go out to Grandma Ruby's sons, sisters and extended family on your loss of this Angel on Earth. I met Grandma Ruby 14 years ago while working for the Foster Grandparent Program. She joined our program as one of our volunteers and touched my life in the process. Grandma Ruby was the gentlest soul, but she loved with all her heart and soul everyone she met. I am sure that the kids she worked with as a Foster Grandparent were blessed by her constant patience, love, understanding and guidance. She loved working with the babies, rocking and holding them, but she also excelled at sharing herself with the toddlers and pre-school aged children. She was an Angel here on earth.

After I left Hampton 12 years ago, Grandma Ruby and I corresponded via mail for a few years. She always asked about my family and my doggies. Even to this day when I think about her and re-read her letters she brings a smile to my face and joy to my heart. She was the perfect example in life of how we should treat and love one another. God blessed this earth for 90 years with this Angel and now I'm sure she's celebrating in heaven.

God Bless you Grandma Ruby and thank you for being you!

Although Grandma Fletcher was not my biological grandma, I loved her very much as my grandmother for 28 years. She was one of the sweetest, kind hearted, giving people that God put on this earth and she will be missed by so many. I love you Grandma.

To Bobby, Shelby, Troy, Debbie, JT, Robbie, Dotty and the rest of the family I'm sorry I can't be there. I'm home with a stomache bug, but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I love you all just as family too.

Grandma Fletcher was one of the sweetest women we've ever had the pleasure of knowing. My mother & I were fortunate enough to get to travel to VA & spend some time with her in August. She got to meet my daughter, her great great granddaughter! We will always treasure the memories of that weekend. Heaven received another Angel on Nov. 2 and I look forward to seeing her again one day. We Love You, Grandma Fletcher!!
Love,
Sherry S. Cannon (great granddaughter & Rene F.Watts (granddaughter)
