Ruby W. LOWE

WAKEFIELD - Ruby West Lowe, 93, of Wakefield went to be with her beloved Lord on Dec. 3, 2009, at Chippenham Medical Center in Richmond.
Born Feb. 13, 1916 in Southampton County, she is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, G. Franklin Lowe Sr. She is also survived by one son, G. Franklin Lowe Jr. and his wife, Mildred B. McCarthy-Lowe of Richmond; two grandchildren, Lisa L. Martz and husband, Tim, Reynold C. Lowe and wife, Kimberly. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Cody, Joey and Linsea Martz, Keaton, Lainey and Kinley Lowe; four step-grandchildren, Ronnie W. McCarthy and wife, Susan, Robert W. McCarthy Jr. and wife, Diane, Gerald C. McCarthy, Tracy M. Mulroy and husband, Tim; sister-in-law, Lucille West of Newport News; seven step great-grandchildren; and two step great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephew and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Howard West; a sister, Jessie West; a step-sister, Margaret Rickerson; and a step-brother, Harold Branch.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at Rocky Hock United Methodist Church in Wakefield, with the Rev. Ronald Eason of Richmond and the Rev. Roy Drake of Sedley officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky Hock Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Wakefield.
